What is a zoetrope? Or a thaumatrope? Or a camera obscura? If you have no idea, join our workshops where participants will learn about optical inventions from the 14th century to today and create their own slides for a magic lantern.
During the workshop, we’ll visit selected exhibition rooms of “Łódź of Film” with exhibits discussed in the sessions and assume the role of a narrator to present short stories with our slides.
Each story will be unique, with guaranteed fun!

Sound Workshop “Silence on the Set!”
How does snow crunch in movies? How does a horse’s hooves clatter? Join us in uncovering the secrets of cinematic sound and its functions in film. We will imitate and record synchronous effects for a film fragment using objects available in the sound studio.
Workshops for ages 10 to 99 take place in a professionally equipped museum sound studio.

The Film Museum in Łódź invites everyone – big and small, to family workshops on making Christmas decorations. Using various materials and techniques, we’ll create characters from the most famous Polish animations: Wróbelek Ćwirek, Miś Uszatek, or Filemon and Boniface. The workshops are combined with screenings of classic animated films for children.
