The Forest School of Partisans is a unique program that combines education with adventure. Participants experience Polish history in practice—through survival skills, military drills, and interaction with historical military artifacts. It is a true history lesson that leaves a lasting impression.
During their stay, children also enjoy close contact with nature and animals—they can care for horses, feed chickens, rabbits, and dogs, while discovering the charms of Podlasie’s natural surroundings. The program also includes many physical activities, such as building a partisan camp, lighting a campfire, horseback riding, nature walks, and field games that develop teamwork and creativity.
The school’s original program is under the patronage of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) and the Association of AK Soldiers, and it is run by history enthusiasts and experienced instructors. This ensures that children not only have fun but also gain knowledge in an engaging and inspiring way.
2-Day Adventure Program
The Forest School of Partisans program is designed to combine historical education with active outdoor recreation and fun.
Day 1 begins with arrival and accommodation at the Kurnik Polski agritourism center. Participants then take part in horseback riding lessons, learn the basics of horse care, and later collaboratively build a partisan camp in the forest. The day ends with a campfire and outdoor dinner, allowing children to experience the true spirit of adventure.
Day 2 starts with morning exercises and feeding the animals. Next comes a historical storytelling session, a demonstration of military artifacts, and military drills. After lunch, participants pack up, clean the camp, and spend time on free outdoor activities, completing their green school experience full of memories and new skills.
For groups interested in a longer stay, there is a 3-day option that allows for additional field activities, educational games, and more time for survival skills and horseback riding. The schedule can be adjusted to the group’s needs, making each trip flexible and tailored to the participants.
Attractions and Additional Opportunities
The Forest School of Partisans offers many attractions that make the stay an unforgettable adventure. At the Kurnik Polski agritourism center, participants can enjoy an outdoor sauna (“Russian bath”) and a jacuzzi, perfect for relaxing after an eventful day.
Children also have the opportunity to meet horses, feed farm animals, and actively spend time in the forest, developing physical fitness and practical skills. Additionally, participants learn basic survival techniques—lighting a fire, preparing meals in field conditions, and first aid—acquiring skills useful in everyday life as well as outdoor adventures.
