Spending winter holidays in the mountains is a dream for many children. No wonder – almost everyone loves playing in the snow. If your child has caught the skiing bug and either skis already or wants to learn, we'll suggest where it's worth going and what types of vacation organization you might consider.

1. Family Trip

The best places for a family trip with children can be found in many rankings. Usually, reviews provide information not only about the service standards of a particular hotel but also about the surrounding slopes and whether there are nearby amenities like a 'bunny hill,' gentle slopes, carpet lifts, ski schools, and snow cannons.

For years, the top family-friendly spots have included: Kotelnica Białczańska – Białka Tatrzańska, Ryterski Raj – Rytro, Zagroń Complex – Istebna, Family Ski Station Rusiń-Ski – Bukowina Tatrzańska, and the Gromadzyń-Laworta Ski Stations – Ustrzyki Dolne.

If you decide to go with a tour operator, also read reviews about them – do they offer attractions beyond skiing, and do they provide child supervision? If you're organizing the trip yourself, arranging a skiing instructor or planning free-time activities after the snowy adventures will be up to you.

2. Camp

Ski camps for beginners, intermediate, and advanced skiers are offered by many organizations and agencies. What should we check before deciding to entrust our child to a particular travel event organizer?

  • First – reviews.
  • Second – how long they've been in operation, and what kind of staff do they have?
  • Third – in which regions of Poland do they have facilities?
  • Fourth – what program, besides training, do they offer (entertainment, local walks, additional trips)?

3. Day Camps

If your child is just starting with skiing or is not yet confident in their skills, and there's a slope with a ski lift near where you live offering day camps – seize the opportunity. Under the watchful eye of an instructor, your child can develop proper habits and gain confidence.

Skiing holidays are a wonderful adventure. Regardless of where we spend them, safety is always the most important thing.
