Film Industry Course 🎬 Create your own commercial or music video! 🎶 Led by award-winning TV commercial producer Tess Mitchell, director Jonas McQuiggan, and visual effects artist Phil Oldham, this intensive, week-long course will teach young people how to make a music video or TV commercial. Students will gain hands-on experience and industry knowledge, with off-site visits to Arri Media for film equipment demos and Virtual Reality Production. They’ll also hear from sound engineers, casting directors, and key crew members. By the end of the week, students will create their own music video. With only 25 spots available, we also offer work experience opportunities with our partners after completing the course. 🌟🎥
Event programme
Monday 🎬: Introduction to Filmmaking During class: Learn about the roles on set (director, producer, cinematographer) and how to develop a film concept. Understand the basic structure of filmmaking. Tuesday ✍️: Idea Development During class: Work on creating storyboards, planning budgets, and designing the visual concept of your film. Dive into scriptwriting and pitching your ideas. Wednesday 🎥: Off-site Visit to Arri Studios, London During class: Hands-on experience with top-tier equipment such as cameras, lighting, and other production tools. Tour Arri Studios to see how professional productions are done. Thursday 🎞️: Post-Production During class: Learn about video editing, sound design, and visual effects, with a focus on shaping the final product. Friday 📽️: Practical Day - Directing and Producing During class: Apply what you’ve learned by directing and producing a short project, such as a music video or commercial. During the week students will have the opportunity to use the gym and swimming pool facilities at the start and end of each day.
