Suggested topics for preschool and day camp groups: 

  1. Magical film screenings with classic animated films set in a winter atmosphere 

  2. Toys in the light of a magic lantern with a workshop (creating an optical toy – thaumatrope with themes from animated films) and screening of classic animated films.

The Feline World of Filemon and Boniface

Join us for fun with two of the most famous cinematic cats – Filemon and Boniface. We start in the cinema hall with a screening of cartoons to immerse ourselves in an adventure-filled world. Then, together, we will create our own unique feline friend from various materials.

Winter, Winter, Snow is Falling

We invite the young and old to create an animated film using stop-motion animation. First, we'll make winter snowflakes, which will then become the stars of an animated film. Not familiar with this technique? It's demanding, but the results are spectacular!

In the Winter Light of the Magic Lantern

What is a zoetrope? And a thaumatrope? And a camera obscura? If you have no idea what these are, join us for workshops where we explore optical inventions from the 14th century to today and create a simple optical toy – a flipbook (kineograph) – with a winter theme. The sessions are accompanied by screenings of classic animated films for children.

Let's Build a Factory!

Have you ever wondered how the factories of the greatest Łódź manufacturers were built? Did Mr. Scheibler build the weaving mill or the spinning mill first? During the workshops, we'll explore, see, and design a model of our shared factory from various materials. The workshops will also include a visit to the historic interiors of the museum, the palace of the greatest Łódź manufacturer – Karol Scheibler.

What is a zoetrope? And a thaumatrope? And a camera obscura? If you don't know, join us for workshops where we explore optical inventions from the 14th century to today and create slides for display in a magic lantern. We'll find such a lantern in the museum exhibition and… see how magic happens when telling phantasmagorias. We'll also visit selected exhibition rooms with items discussed in the sessions. The sessions are accompanied by screenings of classic animated films for children.
